Holiday Parties that YOU can Host!

17 Nov

The holidays can be stressful, and trying to be the “belle of the ball” can make it worse. Here are two simple idea’s for hosting a holiday get together. One is for you and your girlfriends, and the other is for the whole family. I hope you enjoy these ideas!

Holiday Cookie Party.

  1. Send out the invite at least 3 weeks ahead of time. You can do a Facebook invite, but make sure to follow up with a phone call because not everyone sees the Facebook invites!
  2. Tell everyone to bake their favorite cookies, and bring 2-3 dozen to the party with them. Also, have them print out copies of the recipe, so people can take the recipe home with them if they love the cookies!
  3. Set up a “Cookie Station”, use a festive table cloth, a few holiday decorations and that’s it. Keep it simple!
  4. Make Eggnog using this simple recipe by Alton Brown.
  5. Munch on some delicious cookies and chat with your closest pals!

Souperbowl Party!

In the thick of football season, get together and do something fun (and good!).  Here is how to do it.

  1. Invite all of your closest friends over for some Nachos and Chili. Check out this recipe for easy nacho’s.
  2. Your friends will inevitably ask what they can bring to the party, and in this instance, just tell them each to bring 5 cans of food.
  3. Cheer on your favorite team, have fun with your friends.
  4. Take your cans to the food bank after all the fun is over. Don’t you feel better already?

Here are some holiday table settings I came across in case you need some inspiration!
